Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Mug Cake Delight

Chocolate protein powder, cocoa, and peanut butter create a quick single-serving mug cake. Almond flour and milk complete the five-ingredient batter.

Because protein powders absorb liquid differently, focus on mixing the stated ingredients until no dry pockets remain. Use a microwave-safe mug with enough room above the batter so the mixture is not filled to the rim.

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp almond flour
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Add the chocolate protein powder, peanut butter, cocoa powder, almond flour, and milk to a microwave-safe mug.
  2. Stir thoroughly, scraping the bottom and sides of the mug until the mixture is uniform.
  3. Microwave for one minute.
  4. Carefully remove the mug and let the cake cool slightly before eating.

Choose a Roomy Mug

Start by pressing the peanut butter against the side of the mug with the spoon, then work it into the milk and dry ingredients. This makes it easier to eliminate cocoa and protein-powder lumps. Scrape along the base of the mug, where dry ingredients can hide.

Microwave wattage and mug shape can affect how the cake looks after the stated minute. A wide mug exposes more surface area, while a narrow mug creates a deeper layer. Follow the original one-minute cooking time and handle the mug carefully because it may be hot.

The cake is intended for one serving and is best eaten after it cools slightly. Letting it stand briefly helps the hot center settle and reduces the risk of a steam burn.
