Banana Berry Oatmeal Bowl

Warm oats and chia seeds form the base of this fruit-and-nut oatmeal bowl. Banana, blueberries, dried berries, and mixed nuts provide contrasting textures, while honey or maple syrup and cinnamon season the oatmeal itself. A small amount of dark chocolate finishes the bowl.

For the Oatmeal

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • A pinch of cinnamon

Toppings

  • 1 banana, sliced
  • A handful of blueberries
  • A mix of almonds, pine nuts, and pistachios
  • Dried berries, such as mulberries or cranberries
  • 1 tablespoon dark chocolate chunks

Cook and Finish

  1. Bring the almond milk or other milk to a boil in a pot.
  2. Add the rolled oats and chia seeds. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 5–7 minutes, until thick and creamy.
  3. Stir in the honey or maple syrup and the cinnamon.
  4. Pour the oatmeal into a bowl. Add the banana slices, blueberries, dried berries, and nuts.
  5. Garnish with the dark chocolate chunks.

About the Toppings

Add the blueberries, nuts, and dried berries according to your preferred balance of fruit and crunch. Spread the toppings across the bowl for variety in each spoonful, and add the chocolate last so it softens slightly without disappearing into the oats.
