This fruit dessert layers frozen berries or other frozen fruit with yellow cake mix and lemon-lime soda. It makes 16 slices in a 9×13-inch dish.
Ingredients
- 2 packages (12 ounces each) frozen fruit of choice
- 1 box (18 ounces) yellow cake mix
- 1 can (12 ounces) diet lemon-lime soda, such as Sprite Zero
- Cooking spray
- Butter-flavored cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Spread the frozen fruit across the bottom of the dish.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the fruit, breaking up any lumps.
- Slowly pour the soda over the cake mix.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Uncover the dish, coat the top lightly with butter-flavored cooking spray, and bake for another 25 minutes, until the topping is cooked through with no dry or raw-looking cake-mix patches.
