This banana yogurt parfait is a quick layered snack or breakfast made with banana-flavored Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, and a small amount of chocolate. It takes only a few minutes to assemble and requires no cooking, making it useful for busy mornings or an easy chilled dessert.
The original combination uses Dannon Light + Fit banana cream non-fat Greek yogurt, banana, strawberries, and Lily’s milk chocolate chips. You can build it in a glass to show the layers or assemble everything in a bowl when presentation is less important.
Ingredients
- 1 container Dannon Light + Fit banana cream non-fat Greek yogurt
- Fresh banana, sliced
- Fresh strawberries, sliced
- 10 Lily’s milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Wash the strawberries, remove their tops, and slice them into bite-sized pieces.
- Peel and slice the banana shortly before assembling the parfait.
- Spoon about half of the Greek yogurt into a glass or small bowl.
- Add a layer of banana and strawberries, reserving a few pieces for the top.
- Cover the fruit with the remaining yogurt.
- Finish with the reserved fruit and sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top.
- Serve immediately or keep chilled until ready to eat.
Tips for a Better Parfait
Dry the strawberries after washing so excess water does not thin the yogurt. Slice the banana just before serving because cut banana darkens over time. If preparing the parfait in advance, place the yogurt and strawberries in the container first and add the banana and chocolate chips closer to serving time.
For the cleanest layers, use a narrow glass and add the yogurt with a spoon rather than pouring it. The parfait can also be stirred together for a creamier fruit-and-chocolate mixture.
