Peanut Butter Banana Blueberry Oatmeal

This oatmeal bowl pairs warm oats with banana, blueberries, peanut butter, and a light drizzle of honey or maple syrup. Optional chia or flax seeds can be scattered over the top. The toppings are added after cooking, so their flavors stay distinct against the creamy oat base.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk or water
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 banana
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 1–2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup
  • Optional: chia or flax seeds

Directions

  1. Add the rolled oats, milk or water, and a pinch of salt to a saucepan.
  2. Cook the oats until they reach a creamy consistency, stirring so they do not catch on the bottom.
  3. Pour the oatmeal into a serving bowl.
  4. Slice the half banana and arrange it over the oats with the blueberries.
  5. Add the peanut butter, keeping it in one spoonful or spreading it across the surface.
  6. Drizzle with 1–2 teaspoons of honey or maple syrup.
  7. Sprinkle with chia or flax seeds if using, then enjoy warm.

Make It Your Preferred Texture

Using milk gives the oatmeal a creamier base, while water keeps the oat flavor more prominent. Stir more often for a smoother bowl, or leave a little texture in the oats if that is your preference.

Add the blueberries after cooking so they remain whole, or gently press a few into the warm oats to release some juice. The peanut butter will loosen as it warms, making it easy to stir through the bowl one bite at a time.
