Raspberry Smoothie

Frozen raspberries give this smoothie its vivid color and tart fruit flavor. Greek yogurt and half a banana add body, almond milk helps everything blend, and honey or maple syrup is optional.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup frozen raspberries
  • ½ cup almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • ½ banana
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • Ice cubes (optional, for a thicker smoothie)

Instructions

  1. Add the Greek yogurt, frozen raspberries, almond milk, banana, and optional honey or maple syrup to a blender.
  2. Add ice cubes if you would like a thicker smoothie.
  3. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the blender if needed.
  4. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.

Blend It Smoothly

Put the almond milk in the blender before the frozen fruit if your machine blends more easily when liquid sits near the blades. Break the half banana into several pieces so it distributes evenly. If raspberry seeds collect on the sides of the blender, pause and scrape them back into the mixture before blending again.

Taste the smoothie before adding the optional sweetener. The ripeness of the banana and the tartness of the raspberries will affect how sweet the finished drink seems. If using honey or maple syrup, blend again briefly so it does not settle at the bottom.

For the thickest result, use the optional ice and serve the smoothie as soon as it is blended. If it stands, the texture will thin as the frozen fruit and ice warm; stir it again if separation begins.
