Ingredients:
● 4 large bell peppers (green, red, or yellow), halved and deseeded
● 1 lb ground beef or thinly sliced steak
● 1 tablespoon olive oil
● 1 small onion, diced
● 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
● 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
● 1 teaspoon garlic powder
● 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
● Salt & black pepper, to taste
● 1½ cups shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
● Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Directions:
I. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and place bell peppers in a baking dish. Lightly brush with olive oil and bake for 10 minutes to soften.
II. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and mushrooms, cooking until soft, about 5 minutes.
III. Add ground beef (or steak slices) to the pan. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as needed. Drain excess grease.
IV. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes.
V. Remove peppers from the oven and evenly fill each half with the beef mixture.
VI. Top each stuffed pepper with shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese.
VII. Return to the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
VIII. Serve hot and enjoy!
