Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup water
- Additional seasonings of your choice (such as dried herbs, spices, or grated cheese)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, and any optional seasonings you’d like to add, such as garlic powder or onion powder.
- Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the olive oil and water.
- Use a fork or your hands to mix the ingredients together until a dough forms. If the dough seems too dry, you can add a little more water, a tablespoon at a time, until it comes together.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead it gently until smooth.
- Divide the dough into two equal portions. Roll out one portion of the dough on a floured surface until it is very thin, about 1/8 inch thick. Use a sharp knife, pizza cutter, or pastry wheel to cut the dough into individual crackers of your desired size and shape. Repeat with the remaining portion of dough.
- Place the cut crackers onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
- If desired, you can sprinkle additional seasonings or grated cheese over the tops of the crackers for extra flavor.
- Bake the crackers in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Once baked, remove the crackers from the oven and allow them to cool completely on the baking sheet before serving or storing in an airtight container.
Enjoy these homemade crackers as a delicious and versatile snack, or serve them alongside your favorite dips, cheeses, or spreads for a tasty appetizer. Feel free to customize the seasonings and toppings to suit your taste preferences!
